INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
- Do not use it on wet surfaces. Do not be exposed to rain. Store indoors.
- Do not allow it to be used as a toy. Not intended for use by children aged 12 and under. Close supervision is necessary when used by or near children. To avoid injury or damage,mkeep children away from product, and do not allow children to place fingers or other objects into any openings.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use the remanufacturer’s recommended-ended attachments.
- Do not use the charger with a damaged cord or plug. If appliance or charger is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, take it to a service center before counting the during use.
- Do not pull or carry the charger by a cord, use the cord as a handle, close a door on the cord, or pull the cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not before duct on the cord. Do not run the appliance over the cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
QUICK FLIP CREVICE TOOL
- Flip the crevice tool out and push in to clean cracks and crevices
- To store the crevice tool: gently pull the tool away from the dust cup and flip the tool up toward the unit & press down until you feel it lock into place.
OPTIONAL POWERED BRUSH ROLL
- Push powered brush roll into hand vac nozzle to attach.
- To remove powered brush roll, gently pull tool away from the hand vac.
NOTE
The powered brush roll has its own motor and a motor protective device: should debris jam the the brush roll and stop it from rotation, switch unit OFF, remove the powered brush roll from thet, remove the debris jamming the brush roll and reassemble the powered brush roll. Then wait a few minutes before turning the unit ON again.
TO REDUCE THE RISK OF DAMAGE
- Avoid picking up hard, shared,p objects with this product, as they may cause damage.
Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not expose the machine to freezing temperatures.

CAUTION
The battery used in this device may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, heat above manufacturer’s maximum temperature limit (60°C/140°F), or incinerate. Dispose of the battery promptly. Keep away from children. Do not disassemble and do not dithe dispose of in fire. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery or remove any component projecting from the battery terminals. The battery and charger have no user-service usable parts. Fire or injury may result. Prior to disposal, protect exposed terminals with heavy insulating tape to prevent shorting.
FILTER REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
TIP: To maintain performance, fiBeforeuld be changed every 3-6 months, or as needed
- While holding the dirt cup and handle, press the dirt cup release button.
- Remove the dirt cup to access the filter.
- Remove filter assembly from dirt cup & separate the white filter from the filter housing. Tap the filter over a trash can to remove debris. Be sure to also wipe debris from the filter house ing.
- Put the filter back into the filter housing and place filter assembly back into the dirt cup. Reassemble dirt cup to body, align bottom first and rotate up until it clicks.

HOW TO USE
- Slide the power switch to the ON position
- After using it to clean, slide the power switch to the OFF p, position.
CHARGING
- The power switch must be in the OFF position.
NOTE: The unit can only charge when the switch is in the OFF position.
If the unit is running and the charger plug is connected to the unit, the unit will shut off to prevent damage to the charger or unit.
- The charge indicator light will pulse when charging and the indicator will turn off when charging is complete.
NOTE: The charge indicator will only turn on while charging. The charger will be warm while charging.
The unit will charge only for as long as needed. It may take up to 6 hours for full charge.
REMOVE FROM THE CARTON AND REVIEW THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL
PLUG-IN AND CHARGE THE UNIT UNTIL THE CHARGE INDICATOR LIGHT GOES OUT (CHARGING MAY TAKE UP TO 6 HOURS)

When used and maintained in normal household use and in accordance with the Owner’s Manual, your Dirt Devil® product is warranted against original defects in material and workmanship. During the Warranty Period labor and parts, at no cost to you, to correct any such defect in products purchased in the United States, U.S. Military Exchanges and Canada.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
This Warranty does not cover the use of the product in a commercial operation (such as maid, janitorial, and equi8 personal services), brush roll, belt, bags, filters, improper maintenance of the product, damage due to misuse, acts of God, nature, vandalism or other acts beyond the control of Royal Appliance Mfg. Co. (“Royal”, “we”), owner’s acts or omissions, use outside the country in which the product was initially purchased and resales of the product by the original owner. This warranty does not cover pick-up, delivery, transportation, or house calls. This warranty does not app, ly to products purchased outside the United States, including its territories and possessions, outside a U.S. Military Exchange and outside of Canada. This warranty does not cover products purchased from a party that is not an authorized retailer, dealer, or distributor of Royal products.
OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS
This Warranty is not transferable and may not be assigned. This Warranty shall be governed and construed under the laws of the state of Ohio. The Warranty Period will not be extended by any replacement or repair performed under this Warranty.
THIS WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY AND REMEDY PROVIDED BY ROYAL. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT WILL ROYAL BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE TO THE OWNER OR ANY PARTY CLAIMING THROUGH OWNER, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORT, OR STRICT PRODUCT LIABILITY OR ARISING FROM ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER.
